MassDOT Version 2.0 of Plan Preparation Guidelines is Now Live 6/1/2022

The biggest change is that surveyors prequalified under MassDOT’s A&E Review Board Category S3 must participate in the development of the ROW Plans for all projects set to advertise in FY24 and beyond. MassDOT will be handling FY23 projects on a cases by case basis.

MassDOT Traffic Count Data Collaborative 4/20/2020

MassDOT is collaborating with municipalities, regional planning agencies, and private industry to make historical traffic count data more easily accessible to those who need it. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, current traffic volumes have fallen to historic lows. However, the design of transportation projects across Massachusetts is continuing, so it is becoming necessary to utilize traffic data that previously would have been considered out-of-date.

MassDOT Issues the 2020 Edition of Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges 2/5/2020

The 2020 Edition of the MassDOT Highway Division Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges supersedes and replaces all previous editions of the Standard Specifications. In addition, MassDOT recently updated standard workbooks to reflect changes initiated under Engineering Directive E-20-001, including the PDDG Checklist and Submission Distribution Workbook and the Standardized Scope of Services and Workhour Estimate forms found here https://www.mass.gov/lists/massdot-highway-contract-and-invoicing-tools.
