On September 23, 2020, MassDOT announced the release of the MassDOT Guidelines for the Planning and Design of Roundabouts. This publication, dated September 2020, is the first formal guidance document issued by MassDOT dedicated to the planning and design of roundabouts. It may be used immediately as a supplement to the Project Development and Design Guide and in conjunction with other relevant planning and design guides.

In addition, MassDOT is pleased to provide planners, designers and other interested parties with detailed information about the benefits and operation of roundabouts.
