MassDOT Highway Division issued an updated version of the Traffic and Safety Engineering 25% Design Submission Guidelines. This version, dated 5/31/22, replaces the 2/15/11 version of this document and includes new guidance on traffic count data for all project designs.
The new guidelines shall be used immediately for all projects not yet advertised, permitted, or otherwise approved.
For more info, refer to Engineering Directive E-22-003. This Engineering Directive supersedes Engineering Directive E-11-001 regarding the previous version of the 25% Design Submission Guidelines, and supersedes Engineering Directive E-20-005, which provided guidance on traffic count data.
