MassDOT Version 2.0 of the Plan Preparation Guidelines is Now Live

Version 2.0 of the Plan Preparation Guidelines is now live. The updated guidelines can be found at the following link: https://www.mass.gov/lists/design-guides-and-manuals. The biggest change is that surveyors prequalified under MassDOT’s A&E Review Board Category S3 must participate in the development of the ROW Plans for all projects set to advertise in FY24 and beyond. MassDOT will be handling FY23 projects on a cases by case basis.
In other exciting news ROW has created a QA/QC fillable form. A new form is required for every submission. A separate form must be submitted to State ROW and Municipal ROW on projects with split ROW responsibilities. The PLS participating in the development of the ROW plans along with the designer will each sign the QA/QC form. MassDOT will begin requiring the QA/QC form be submitted for every submission immediately.
