Panelists
Michael Bolduc, Senior Project Manager, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger
Mike is Chair of Council of American Structural Engineers-Structural Engineering Institute's BIM Committee and an active member in the AGC BIMForum. He will share industry activities on the model lifecycle from design through construction with a focus on the importance of the BIM Execution Plan during the design phase to prepare models for the entire construction process.
Gary Fay, BIM Manager, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger
Gary will discuss the importance of understanding and communicating the Level of Development when sharing models in a collaborative environment. He will share his BIM team's current best practices with illustrative examples.
Nick Nigro, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Manager, Suffolk Construction
Nick will share how Suffolk Construction uses BIMs (such as cost estimating, scheduling and coordination, preparation of shop drawings, direct to fabrication, and construction logistics). Nick will discuss the state of BIMs that they receive from design consultants and how they impact the project.
Robert Ray, Senior Counsel, Stantec
Bob will discuss common risk issues and contract provisions that designers encounter on projects that require BIM, and will discuss risk mitigation strategies for designers using BIM.
