ACEC/MA Private Sector Committee Meeting
@ Aldrich Center @ The Engineering Center, One Walnut St, Boston or by Zoom from your computer
Guest: Aaron Gouveia, Vice President, The Belfort Group
Join ACEC/MA’s Private Sector Committee + Water, Energy & Environment Committee for an enlightening discussion on how social media is being used today in the realm of public affairs during the permitting and construction phase of projects. It will cover a basic breakdown of platforms and which are most used and useful, what the goals of social media use should be on the part of the development team, social media strategies that should be implemented proactively instead of just during a crisis, and recommendations for creating a social media plan that has true value. Social media can be an invaluable tool not only to monitor conversations and gauge public feedback, but also to increase transparency and even build a groundswell of public support that gives municipal decision-makers the political cover to approve controversial projects.
