ACEC/MA’s next DEI Forum is on June 23 at 3:30 - 5 PM.
After a brief presentation by DCAMM (Susan Goldfischer, Deputy General Counsel and Charles Kelsey III, Director of Access & Opportunity) about workforce reporting requirements, we will view and discuss the TED Talk "3 ways to be a better ally in the workplace”.
We're taught to believe that hard work and dedication will lead to success, but that's not always the case. Gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation can be factors that affect our chances, and it's up to each of us to be allies for those who face discrimination. "There's no magic wand for correcting diversity and inclusion," Melinda Briana Epler, writer and advocate, says. "Change happens one person at a time, one act at a time, one word at a time." This TED Talk shares three ways to support the cause and be a better ally to people who are underrepresented in the workplace. Mary Hall and Lori Chicoyne, ACEC/MA DEI Forum Co-Chairs, will moderate and lead a lively group discussion on the topic after the viewing.
