As of 2/19/2011, there are new state requirements for the installation of sheet metal on buildings in the Commonwealth. This work must be done by a licensed Sheet Metal Worker.
Permits and inspections are required for all sheet-metal installations beginning February 19, and all installers ("tin-knockers"), including apprentices, must be licensed.
The types of work affected include fabrication and installation of ventilation systems and associated air-handling equipment, as well as commercial or industrial metal roofing systems.
