The National Levee Safety Program, a joint program between USACE and FEMA currently under development, plans to release the draft first edition of the National Levee Safety Guidelines on April 1, 2024. These guidelines, developed with stakeholder input, are intended to serve as a resource of best practices to help achieve nationwide consistency in improving the reliability of levees and resilience of communities behind levees throughout the United States.
To encourage wide participation in the review of the draft guidelines, we are offering a series of webinars that range from introductory to topic specific. The introductory webinars are being offered on March 20 and March 21, prior to the official release of the draft guidelines, and will provide a high-level overview of how the publication was developed and what you can expect to see in the document along with how to provide comments.
After release of the draft guidelines on April 1, 2024, we are hosting several topic-specific webinars, starting at the end of April and running until mid-May, to provide more detail on related content from applicable chapters and how to submit feedback.
All webinars are open to anyone, and registration is required through Eventbrite. Visit www.leveesafety.org for more information on how to register.
