MassDOT’s Stormwater Unit reached out to us to announce that the Stormwater Design Guide (SDG) has recently been posted to the MassDOT Stormwater page.
The MassDOT SDG is a guidance document for those involved in the planning, design, and permitting of stormwater management systems for MassDOT roadways, bridges, and highway facilities. By clarifying MassDOT’s methods and policies related to stormwater management, the SDG should be used to achieve stormwater designs that best comply with state and federal regulations, especially considering the site constraints found along highway corridors, intersections, and bridges.
We have scheduled a Zoom training with MassDOT for September 22 at 10 am to review the contents of the SDG and expectations for its use by designers. I expect to see an SOP or a directive about the Guide, but the training session may come first.
