3/2/22: HB 3297 is scheduled to be voted on in the Massachusetts House of Representatives during formal session on 3/3/2022 House Calendar
HB 3297, An Act supporting safe excavation practices had a virtual hearing before the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy on November 2, 2021.
Ken Conte, PLS, Vice President, Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers (MALSCE) and a Principal of ACEC/MA Member Firm Beals and Thomas testified on behalf of MALSCE and ACEC/AM at the Joint Committee's virtual hearing on natural gas bills filed for the 2021-2022 Legislative Session.
A similar bill, SB 2293 An Act relative to public safety in excavation is in the Joint Committee on Transportation and will have a hearing soon.
Please reach out to your state representative now, based on where you live/vote and ask them to support favorable action on HB 3297. Let them know that this is important for public safety, climate resiliency projects, your town and your professional practice.
